Published on by Commercial Painting Services

A strong and durable floor is always a priority when it comes to buildings, in some cases, you might find that the floor gets damaged so quickly leaving the appearance of the internal beauty destroyed. No one wants to spend more, this is where epoxy floor comes in. It is true that not so many people have heard of the term epoxy flooring, this is why commercial painting services have decided to bring the solution to your problem right to you.

To start with, it is important to know what exactly is epoxy, it is a system made up of two major components which include hardeners and resin.  The two components are mixed together to come up with a chemical solution which is in form of a rigid strong plastic material. Using a simple definition epoxy flooring is known to be a flooring surface made up of several layers of epoxy applied on the floor as deep as two millimetres. Some people might have heard of epoxy floor coating and epoxy floor which are two different things. The two terms are differentiated by the depth of the epoxy used. As said earlier the depth used for the epoxy floor is exactly two millimetres while epoxy floor coating is that one which is less than 2MM.

Epoxy floors are used even in industries where there are heavy duty operations going on. Most of the industries have preferred epoxy flooring since there will be no extra cost incurred for repair. There are various types of epoxy flooring which include;

Self-levelling epoxy floor- very popular in homes mostly in dining areas and kitchen since they are easy to clean.

Mortar epoxy floor- the strongest of all, great in repairing cracked floors before you lay a different epoxy floor

Epoxy antistatic floor- used in most sensitive areas with a total absence of static around the environment

Gravelled epoxy floor-if you are looking for beauty this should be your choice, it contains some perfect anti-slip components though it is difficult to lay.

Epoxy flaked floor- they have coloured flakes or chips which are laid on the floor for decoration purposes. They come in different colours where sometimes it is customized according to your choice.

Epoxy terrazzo floor-used in large spaces and where decoration is a priority

Self-dispersing epoxy floor-very strong and used in places with high traffic
